Rural Roosts - Pine holiday lodges & cabins in rural Lincolnshire We offer fantastic self catering holidays in the rural and relaxing countryside in Lincolnshire. We are very close to the Wolds, the quaint horse racing town of Market Rasen and the ancient City of Lincoln with its beautiful Cathedral and Castle. We are also close to Cadwell Park motor racing circuit and the beautiful town of Louth and Horncastle.   Whatever type of relaxing holiday you are looking for, we can offer... Unless you are specifically looking for night clubs, rowdy bars and theme parks! Rural Roosts is based on a farm in a very small village called Stainfield. There is plenty to do and see in the area such as walking, cycling, painting and watching and photographing the wildlife and nature all around the lodges. Each warm and comfortable cabin is equipped with your every need so that, should you wish to, you needn't venture far!

Our youngest daughter likes to keep us in check - here she is testing out the little playarea at Rural Roosts with her friend during the summer holidays! Children can have lovely outdoor adventures whilst staying here, be it playing in the playarea, having a try at fishing or exploring the animals and wildlife around the lodges and farm. Slightly further afield, there are plenty of activities and attractions including Rand Farm Park and Woodside Wildlife Park - both within a 10 minute drive, Lincoln Castle and Cathedral just a 20 minute drive and the coast a little over half an hour; there is plenty to do to keep the whole family entertained. Our eldest daughter Sophie has created a wonderful Children's Activity Pack which we are leaving in the lodges along with colouring pencils for our younger guests to enjoy. We now have a 'Wall of Fame' in The Roost to display some of their wonderful drawings 😊

As many of our guests will know, we are a very dog friendly site here at Rural Roosts and welcome dogs of all shapes and sizes! We accept up to 2 dogs in all our properties apart from Swan Lodge where we just accept 1. We are slowly working round the lodges adding fencing so it is easier to have doors open in the warmer months without your dogs escaping (lured by all those cheeky rabbits!). We have also recently added a designated off lead 'Dog Exercise Area' in addition to all the usual lovely dog walks around the farm. We advertise our lodges on the website - DogFriendly http://www.dogfriendly.co.uk/ , which is a great site if you are looking for dog friendly places to stay, places to eat, days out etc. At the moment they are running a competition I thought some of our guests with dogs maybe interested in - It's a busy time of year at DogFriendly and we need your help! Firstly, we are working on some more dog friendly products that we hope will help the lives of our members and their dogs whether on the move or in the home. Please do let us know your thoughts on this short survey and you could win a £200 Holiday Voucher to spend on the getaway of your choice. To take the survey, please click https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/JF2LVPW Also, we have three new categories in this year's DogFriendly Awards. Places to Stay in Europe, Places to visit in Europe and Dog Friendly Employer. If you could help us by nominating any places that you have visited, or any employers you know that are dog friendly, please visit http://www.dogfriendly.co.uk/be-dog-friendly/ And finally, many of you will I am sure remember that a couple of years ago, we supported an amazing lady, Maggie and her dog Oscar, who cycled around the whole of the UK (well Maggie cycled whilst Oscar navigated from his buggy behind). Maggie has just published a book, which follows her and Oscar's adventures and is packed full of beautiful photos. You can find out more about her book here As always, thank you for your help - there wouldn't be a DogFriendly without you. With kind regards Steve & Linda Founders - DogFriendly

As some of our regular guests may know, my husband Tim is a very keen cyclist and has cycled the Prudential Ride London for the past 3 years raising money for Prostate Cancer. This year, I am madly training, and we will be riding the 100 miles together on 30th July, raising money for 'Tommy's' charity. Tommy's exists to help save babies' lives. The charity funds research into the causes and prevention of pregnancy complications that lead to miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth - any support would be greatly appreciated. To find out more about what we are doing and why, please visit http://www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/timandkatie where, if you wish to, you can also sponsor us online.
