I am a self employed K9 Beautician, qualified in 1990.
My grooming is run from home offering a relaxed and friendly environment with a one to one service with myself and your dog. I cover all aspects of k9 care from a simple nail clipping service to a full groom.
I freely offer help and advice on all aspects of dog care, training and another issues you my encounter with your beloved pouch.
While your dog is in to be groomed you can expect it to be groomed out removing dead under coat, de-matted, bathed with whatever shampoo bests suits the coat type and texture, conditioned if required, ears cleaned, plucked and treated [if needed], nails cut and then filed to prevent sharp edges, scissored, clipped or stripped to your requirements then sprayed with deodorant to keep them it smelling sweet for a while. I also fully check Anal Glads and all over the body for Ticks, Fleas and any lumps or bumps, if I find anything it will be reported on collection and noted down in your dog’s records.
While on the table or in the bath your dog will be tethered by a slip collar for safety reasons. It will be lifted on and off the table never being allowed to jump encase of injury. For the bigger dogs I have a walk in shower for ease of access which is also less stressful for them.
I have a fully enclosed dog proof garden so your dog can go out for the toilet and a stretch of their legs.
Once finished being groomed you dog will wait in one of the cages in my hall way. This is for the dogs on good and for added safety precautions while under my care.
I also offer a local collection and delivery service.
When I’m not working we as a family [Richard my husband, Louise & Rebecca Stracey our 2 daughters, breed and show our dogs which takes us all over the UK, Ireland and from time to time into Europe. We have a fully converted motor caravan fully equipped for living in; with the dogs own area, while we are away showing.
I am a fully approved Kennel Club Championship Show Dog Judge. Which allows me to award Kennel Club Challenge Certificates to dogs of such outstanding merit as to be worthy of the title of Champion.
I am also Interim Secretary of The Scottish Dobermann Club.
