Knaresborough Neighbourhood Development Plan

Hi all I hope you don't mind me using this page to highlight something really important for Knaresborough. In September, our Neighbourhood Development Plan will go out to consultation. The plan gives Knaresborians more control over where planning is allowed in town as well as supporting improvements to the town centre etc. If you would like to stay in touch with the plan, please like and share the page below for up-to-date news. A lot of hard work has gone into this but without your backing, it is pointless. This could be the start of a massive change for the better in Knaresborough. Thanks Emma

So if anyone is free next Monday evening, it is the annual town meeting at Knaresborough House at 7:30pm with (hopefully because I'm doing it) an informative presentation on the Neighbourhood Development Plan (which is nearly ready to go to consultation). Want to find out about what's going on in town and ask questions? this is the place to do it. Telly's rubbish at 7:30 on a Monday night after all...

So, I think we've told everyone personally who has a box with us. Last week was our last week of deliveries. Thank you to those people who gave us their support as regular customers over the past two years. You have been wonderful people to work for and I hope that we have delivered a level of service that you rightly expect. Sorry we could not continue. We have, however, been in touch with Ant's Fruit and Veg boxes to your door who are happy to continue deliveries in Knaresborough. Their email is: antsfruitandvegboxes@gmail.com if you want to get in touch. I will miss the purple caulis, the amazing cherries, the funny coloured tomatoes and oh those flat peaches!. Big thanks to Neil Parker at Burbanks who was the man behind the funny coloured veg...

Veg shortage to last till April

http://www.fruitnet.com/fpj/article/171202/veg-shortage-to-last-till-april Please be aware of this. We will continue to replace standard imported veg like broccoli with local/ non European alternatives. Costs of "standards" like broccoli and courgettes are treble their usual costs. Interesting article below but percentage figures are not to be relied on - different journalists giving different figures (or is that alt-facts?) in the same journal.

So we're seeing prices rise dramatically. This is one reason why. Spain yesterday...

Prior warning, the cold weather inEurope has led to a number of shortages including broccoli. That, added to the weakness of the pound against the Euro since the referendum has seen its price go through the roof. Usually a standard for a lot of people, this week will be replaced with our favourite, the purple sprouting variety. Great stir fried as well as steamed, boiled or even roasted.
