These lovebirds are staying at Ruthven on their honeymoon! They are committed birdwatchers and delighted to have already seen a woodpecker. :) They popped in to stock up on bird food for their Highland holiday and on feeders to take back to Bedford. Many congratulations Philip & Sue! 🐦 🐦

Jan came to claim her prize today (or rather the birds' prize!) She chose Peckish suet bites, which are great for providing birds with extra energy in the cold weather. She couldn't keep her hands off the wildlife though!

Ron the Robin decided to come indoors for his food today! Fear not I released the bold boy but he only went as far as the fence :) I am planning an order with Fallen Fruits today which includes lovely things for birds and squirrels (like nuts in shells which are good for squirrel's teeth - who knew?!) as well as gorgeous garden furniture. Call in to Grassroots to have a look at their gorgeous catalogue, with no obligation. I fully expect to go home tonight to find Ron on the sofa with Eddie the dog :D 🐶 🐦

Anne Moore dropped in to pick up a raffle prize for the Laggan Burns Supper today. We decided on nyger seed with a feeder to help out the finches+ siskins in this horrible weather. Grassroots wishes you all a braw Burns Nicht! :)

Here's the consolation for having to go to the bank van - a gorgeous view of the Memorial Gardens in the snowy sunshine! That's all the bills paid. Ouch! :D

The school may have a snow day but I'm at work and Grassroots is open for business! I don't think I'll sell many plants from the garden today but we have lots of goodies for birds 🐦 + squirrels as well as the all-important kindling! 🔥

Well I'm back from being at my cousin Forbes's funeral in Aberdeen. A ray of sunshine during a sad, sad trip was seeing my darling Nana (aged 101 and 3/4!) We had a lovely time looking at photos old and new. <3 All the staff at her care home in Aberdeen are truly amazing in the gentle, patient care they give, with very real affection. Grassroots is open for business again, hurray!
