The Nethergate
Description
A quirky but modern holiday let for up to 5.Family friendly, dogs welcome & handy for road and rail. Beside the beach and Fife Coastal Path. The property is a period conversion on two levels, dating from around 1750. As a listed building, it’s quirky and full of unusual character features (including windows in strange places with very deep sills).
Downstairs we have an entrance vestibule onto a small hallway, off of which there is a decent-sized family bathroom with WC, a dining room with dining table and chairs, a modern fitted shaker-style kitchen with iroko hardwood worktop (complete with modern appliances, including integrated hob, oven, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and a microwave oven). Finally, there is a generous south-facing living room with TV, sofa, chairs, coffee table and so forth.
Upstairs there are two decent sized bedrooms, the first is setup with a double bed with excellent quality mattress and bedding, and a modern LED TV. The second is setup as a twin room with a third single bed that pulls out when required, so that three people can sleep comfortably. These are both upstairs, and there is a newly fitted-out shower room with WC between the two. Note that there are stairs up to the entrance so unfortunately our property is not suitable for wheelchair access or similar.
The property benefits from broadband/wifi, full modern central heating and radiators and is insulated to modern standards so maintains a comfortable temperature easily.
There is private parking for two cars (three if they’re tiny and you’re a black-belt parking ninja) with an EV charging point., A small garden that we’ve discovered is a bit of a sun trap, and of course we are less than a minute from the beach you can see in the pictures. We’re also a short walk from the railway station, so it would be entirely feasible to have a car-free stay here, as Kinghorn station is on the east-coast mainline and therefore very accessible for Edinburgh and beyond. Kinghorn is also ideally placed for golfers, as St. Andrews and Gleneagles are reasonably nearby (best accessed by car) and there are good local courses (both private and public) within the locality. Finally, we are close to small local shops (including a Cooperative for food, several decent pubs, a butchers, a bakers (but no candlestick makers)) and a very short drive to the nearest large supermarket (Morrisons in Kirkcaldy, ~2.5 miles).
The property is dog-friendly, provided they’re well-behaved, though we’ll ask that owners don’t leave their furry friends behind when heading out. No extra charge for dogs. Of course, we’re also child/baby-friendly (same rules apply) and can supply a cot, high-chair, stair-gate and suchlike on request.
If you have any questions about the property or the surrounding area, please do ask and we’ll be only too happy to help.
