On Good Friday, we went out onto the streets of Kidsgrove with the other churches in town ⛪ It was a great start to a powerful and uplifting Easter weekend 🐏🕆 Here is a short video of when we stopped outside Aldi UK. The transcript is below: [Bible reading John 18:1-11. Patricia Hagger] [Preach part 1. Carl Scott] Jesus was arrested like a common criminal. He was taken away in the night by a corrupt justice system that saw Him as nothing more than a trouble-maker. But Jesus was no law-breaker. He was Good. Good, good, good! The betrayal of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane was the start of 'Good Friday.' I say it's 'Good Friday' because this day opened the way for the Cross; for Good Jesus' greatest victory over what was Bad in all our lives. It was good for you that He would suffer in your place for you. (He was the One and Only GOOD SACRIFICE who could do it for you.) Do you know a reason why Jesus came? He came to give us life in abundance! [Car horn sounds] Jesus was not a thief who hides in the shadows to steal and to kill and destroy: this is what the devil does. The devil, with all his badness, is the complete opposite to Jesus, with all his goodness. The devil doesn't offer you life, he only takes it from you - unlike Jesus who gave everything he had, so you, you, if only you will believe, can have ETERNAL LIFE. The Bible says that Satan, the devil, entered Judas (the betrayer of Jesus). The devil hates mankind and he thought he could stop GOD'S SON - Jesus - from saving us from sin and death. But God LOVES us. And God is GREATER than the devil. He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, to be arrested and taken to be sacrificed. In that moment, God commanded the devil, "Take your hands off my children and give ME everything you've got, your worst!"

Come, be ENTERTAINED and get some ANSWERS at the same time! Grace & faith Victory Church, Kidsgrove, is showing the MOVIE 'God's Not Dead' today (certificate PG). Its FREE. It's for EVERYONE and there's FREE popcorn and drinks. A student was challenged to defend his faith because he would not agree with his professor that God is dead. This is the stirring and challenging film of what happened. Please Note: all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult, they cannot be left unattended for this event, thank you. COME IN OUT OF THE COLD, WET WEATHER, ENJOY THE FILM AND SHARE THE AFTERNOON WITH US!

Then with other churches in town we will walk with the cross and stop at various places in town for each church to read what the Bible says about Good Friday and give a short message about Jesus and the cross. Afterwards at 11:30am-ish, our church is open for everyone to get together and have FREE hot cross buns & hot drinks. +++ On Easter Sunday we meet as usual at 11am-1pm. Come and learn more about how Jesus defeated death and shares His resurrection life with all who believe! +++ On Easter Monday, we have a FREE Movie Matinee at 2pm-4:30pm. We're showing 'God's Not Dead' (PG), so it's a great opportunity for non-believers, doubters or seekers to come along and find answers! We'll also provide FREE pop corn and refreshments.
