I've been working on the master pattern for this figure all week, it's a difficult pose because the hands and shovel need to be sculpted and cast separately. Despite the frosty weather today I managed to cast a few figures in the workshop this afternoon. The figures are undercoated in grey and two of them are mounted on small bases though, as the left hand example demonstrates, they do stand on their own feet.

Despite the cold weather I managed a little light weathering to this Parkside Dundas NBR wagon in the outside workshop this morning. Some improvements were made to the brake gear. I airbrushed the underframe then hand painted the rest, transfers are HMRS and the wood load is from Skytrex, painted and roped on with waxed model ship rigging .

Pete added a couple of final flourishes of detail to the front of the HR Loch tender. A coal breaker sits on the tool-box top and working buffers now add interest to the buffer beam . You can see how they work in the upside-down picture of the tender.

HR Loch and Dorb

HR 4-4-0 Loch an Dorb in action today on the clun layout in carlisle on which she performed impeccably on her first test under club conditions. There's a little more detail to be added to the loco before she goes to the paint shop when the weather warms up!

HR53 0-4-4T "Lybster" running through the station on the scenic section at CDOGG recently with a short train consisting of a d.4 outside framed van and a four wheeled brake van built to LMS d.14. The engine was scratch built, the wagons were built from Lochgorm Kits' etches which are "aids to scratch building" rather than kits.
