Independant personal trainer working out of NRGym Keighley. Specializing in athletic workouts, functionality, power/plyometric & speed and agility  I have spent the last 6 year living in America playing football and gaining a degree in exercise science and performance.
After experiencing the physical life of an athlete I began to develop a way of training that takes the principles from athletic movement and incorporates functional strength training to create a fun, challenging, high energy way of training to take your fitness to new levels.

He is someone who I constantly watch for advice and tips on how to get better mobility and flexibility in order to improve performance but also general health. In todays world we spend a lot of time in 'bad positions', whether it's driving a car, sitting at a desk or constantly on our phones. As a result of this our muscles become tight and inactive and therefore bring a negative effect to the human body. Next time you are at the gym give this test a try, sit at the bottom of a squat and see how close to 10 minutes you can get. 10 minutes is the ideal time of what an ideal functional body should be able to attain. Couldn't be prouder of my mate/client Jack Hainsworth. Been working with him for over a month now and the gains he's made both in strength and technique has been amazing. We started with the basics covering basic strength movement and muscular endurance in order to progress to the next phase of his program. We've spent a lot of time working on his posterior strength in order to build a good base foundation for future exercise. Looking forward to seeing his progression in the next phase of his workouts. #rileyperformance

Whats the best way for you to get fit this week

http://www.menshealth.co.uk/fitness/hiit-or-liss This is a great read about the difference between HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) and LISS (Low-Intensity Steady State). Personally I like to use HIIT with my clients as i feel you get a wider range of gains from it including cardiovascular improvements for weight loss or cutting but also coupling with weight training to either gain muscle or just tone up. Give it a read, see what you think.
