facebook.comLast night was the first in the Seaside 5K series and what a turn out from UTS RunClub. 27 members flying the UTS flag and quite possibly the highest turn out of all the local clubs. It just shows how we have grown as a club and the variety of abilities our members have. Great to see Alison, her son Dave, Hilary, Dave Griffiths and Sue (all from our Wednesday night session)! You all ran brilliantly tonight and all we ask is that you enjoy it! From watching you all come in we can honestly say that you did! A special mention needs to go to one of our members Steve, who after years of trying and countless attempts finally cracked the 20min barrier and quite comfortably too with 19.31.
Northern Athletics Road Relay Championships took place on Sunday 25th March 2018 at Birkenhead Park. This year the host club were Wallasey AC and the meeting was in the delightful Birkenhead Park. The course is a flat circuit around the traffic-free park roads and paths. UTS entered a women’s team which consisted of 6 members. Stages 1 & 4 were long legs (approx 9.5K) and stages 2,3,5 and 6 were short legs (approx 5.2K) A cracking days and an even better performance from our UTS ladies! A huge well done to all of you.
Right..... who is up for the seaside run on Wednesday and who just fancies a session at the club! Please let me know ASAP so I can accommodate anyone who wants to do the normal session at the club! If everyone fancies the seaside run superb!
Hill session tonight at 6.30pm Hill sessions force the muscles in your hips, legs, ankles and feet to contract in a coordinated fashion while supporting your full body weight, just as they have to during normal running. In addition, on uphill sections your muscles contract more powerfully than usual because they are forced to overcome gravity to move you up the hill. The result is more power, which in turn leads to longer, faster running strides Tonight we take on hills rep efforts,so how many you do is up to you and at your own pace. Fancy coming along? We offer the first month completely free! We meet at UTS at 6.30pm. Jog warm up followed by drills and the session. See you later... 👍 #UTSRunclub #hillsareyourfriend #Underarmour #train #getfit #nevergiveup

Hill session tonight at 6.30pm Hill training improves leg-muscle strength, quickens your stride, expands stride length, develops your cardiovascular system, enhances your running economy and can even protect your leg muscles against soreness.
