Following the huge success of The Crucible, A Streetcar Named Desire and Posh, we are now delighted to announce our (nearly) all male play – Alan Bennett’s The History Boys. An unorthodox teacher and his colleagues at a British grammar school try to prepare gifted young charges for their upcoming Oxford and Cambridge entrance exams. The students absorb the facts and figures thrown at them by academia, and in the process, they also learn a little about life! We are looking for a cast of 13, including 8 boys of playing age 16 – 18, 2 male teachers playing age 30 – 50, 1 male headmaster playing age 40 – 60 and 1 female teacher, playing age 30 – 40. AP family member, Molly Graham, was recently diagnosed with a rare form of non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. We wanted to do something to help and so are staging a fantastic night of music and entertainment, along with an amazing charity auction. Featuring over 60 of the most talented performers on the South Coast, including our Junior, Young Adult and Adult companies, we will be bringing you the magic of the movies, including music from Elf, Les Miserables, The Producers, The Greatest Showman, Grease, The Great Gatsby, Moulin Rouge, Fame, La La Land and MANY more. All proceeds going to Teenage Cancer Trust. NB : The venue has a free underground car park and disabled access via lift straight from the car park to the auditorium.

So here we go folks.....not one, but two plays to announce for this forthcoming summer..... First up : THE HISTORY BOYS - Alan Bennett's iconic work exploring the lives of some gifted young boys preparing for university. While they learn about love, life and history, a sordid undercurrent builds when the boys are the subject of their teachers' desires. Secondly : PUNK ROCK - an all female version, adding a twist to this edgy, current, utterly relevant play, that explores bullying, violence in school, sexuality, love and relationships. We are very excited to be presenting 2 plays that have entirely parallel themes, with one even having been said to influence the writing of the other, but with our own twist! We really wanted to do something to help and so will be staging a fundraising concert and charity auction with ALL proceeds going to Teenage Cancer Trust on SUNDAY 25th MARCH at The Circle Arts Centre in Portslade. Everyone has so kindly donated their time and services for free, for which we are eternally grateful. The theme for the cabaret is Magic of the Movies and we will be featuring sections from our shows Elf Jr, Les Miserables and The Producers, as well as The Greatest Showman and many many others.
