Final of the Winter Knockout Competition at Ashwater church on Saturday 14th April 2018 starting at 2pm
The TVGR Winter Knockout Competition AGM will be held at St Peter and St Paul's church tower Holsworthy on Tuesday 31st October 2017. All members invited to attend. Ringing at 7pm followed by meeting at 8pm.

Tamar Valley Guild of Ringers Guild Day Saturday 6th May 2017 This year's Guild Day Service will be held at St Anne's church, Whitstone at 3pm followed by tea at St Anne's Hall afterwards. Numbers for tea will need to be booked in advance no later than Tuesday 2nd May 2017. Please contact Mervyn Collins as soon as possible on 01288 241598. All towers in the guild should be open for ringing that day but if for any reason a tower is not available please could you let me know.
The final of the Tamar Valley Guild of Ringers Winter Knockout competition was held at St Nectan's church, Welcome last Saturday and the results were as follows: A Section 1st Monkleigh B team with 21 faults 2nd St Marys A team with 29 faults 3rd Dolton A team with 33 faults 4th Lamerton A team with 64.5 faults B Section 1st Monkleigh A team with 19 faults 2nd Bridgerule team with 40 faults 3rd Pyworthy team with 44 faults 4th St Marys B team with 49 faults C Section 1st Dolton B team with 63.5 faults 2nd Lamerton B team with 110.25 faults 3rd Weare Giffard team with 140 faults Open Section 1st Down St Mary team with 24 faults 2nd St Marys A team with 45 faults 3rd St Marys B team with 97 faults. Many thanks to the host tower for holding the final and for Harold Pankhurst and his team of ladies that provided excellent refreshments all afternoon. Also thanks to Mr & Mrs Down for being the judges for the knockout final and to Clive Ward for judging the open competition. A great afternoon's ringing :-)

We are having our annual open ringing competition at St Nectan's Church Welcombe and so far entries are lacking in the open section. Details as follows: TAMAR VALLEY KNOCKOUT RINGING COMPETITION The Annual Ringing Competition will be held at St Nectan's Church, Welcome On Saturday 8th April 2017 By kind permission of the Rector & Churchwardens PRIZES FOR OPEN SECTION 6 Bell – W Haine Cup and 3 Certificates Ringing to commence at 6.30pm NOVICE SECTION To ring half peal off the stay known as sixty on thirds Trophies and certificates will be awarded at the end of the competition. RULES Teams to ring a peal known as Sixty on Thirds (6 Bell) Any tower wishing to enter two teams may do so, but the second team will only be accepted if time permits. All cups will be perpetual and must be returned by the following year’s competition. St Nectan's Church Council will not be held responsible for any accident in the Tower to any ringer or anyone attending the competition. ENTRY FEE: £6.00 Please telephone the Secretary as soon as possible to enter a team and obtain a time. Times will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
