MC9 Music
Description
Independent music company, with a wealth of industry experience. Home to various artists, labels, events/in-house recording studios.
www.mc9music.com MC9 Music is here to give students at Bucks New Uni hands on experience in the music and entertainment industry. Students from all years take full control, from the scouting of artists, to organising live music events.
There are two main distinctions within the company: Label and Live Events. The Label team deal with the sourcing, recording and promotion of new artists.
The Live Events team also scout new artists as well as trying to integrate our own artists, supporting acts such as Newton Faulkner and Cosmo Jarvis. Faulkner was a great act to have play at Bucks' SU and was achieved by our partnership with Sennheiser UK.
We are always looking for artists to record and have play at the Bucks' Students Union (winner of 3 awards for best SU in the UK) and is a great platform for our artists.

facebook.comWe also have the amazing Sansha ! Francesca Lewis aka Sansha is a 22 year old musician from the outskirts of London. Growing up in rural Buckinghamshire with a music teacher for a mother and drama teacher for a father, she spent her childhood undertaking a rigorous classical training on the violin, trumpet, and voice, taking opera lessons from her grandmother and competing in local competitions. At the age of 18 Francesca wanted a break from the confines of classical music and bought a jazz song book, this influence you can hear in her song-writing structures. During her time at Southampton University where she studied music, Francesca decided to have a go at producing songs herself after spending some time with electronic producers. These self produced songs are heavily inspired by the close harmonies of the 70s group The Carpenters, 80s pop song style of Hall&Oates, and rhythm of modern jazz ensembles. Earning money with residencies in some Southampton restaurants as a background live entertainer, Lewis bought herself a launch-pad for her 21st birthday. She began to perform her electronic music live as well as the acoustic material, performing at house parties, a Sofar Session, some small festivals, and landed a spot at her university's graduation ball, getting a name for her witty on-stage chat and engaging personality. While doing a hip hop module as part of her music course and listening to a lot of The Streets, she also began adding rap and spoken work into her toolbox. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2X5Iz3Gsqlc Free for students. 23/11/17 Headlining we have Lewis Bootle! Winner of Best Unsigned Male 2015, Lewis Bootle is a 22 year old singer/storytelling musician from Ware, Hertfordshire. Taking influences from a wide range of artists including Bob Dylan, Jack Johnson and Jamie T, he twines lyricism with guitar and vocal melodies for his blend of musical storytelling. His first release 'Do What I Need' was track of the week on BBC Introducing, featured on Tom Robinson's BBC 6 Mixtape and has been getting airplay on radio stations across the UK. Currently gigging relentlessly around the South of the UK with his catchy brand of urban folk music, Lewis is fast becoming a crowd favourite, even being championed by the great Frank Turner.
