This weekend's results. Saturday 6th January. 1st XV (W) 17-10 vs. Sutton Coldfield RFC Development Squad (W) 41-33 vs. Bromyard Rugby Club 2nd XV Sunday 7th January. Colts (W) 54-12 vs. Luctonians Three games, three wins this weekend for HRFC. The 1st XV returning victorious from a spirited Sutton Coldfield side desperate for points. Their perilous position at the foot of Midlands 1 (West) led to call to arms for their fan base in the build up to the match, ensuring a tough environment for any visiting side. The Development Squad made the short journey to Bromyard RFC and held off a 2nd half comeback from the home side to prevail. Playing for some time with 12 men due to injuries the aptly named HRFC 'Mud Dogs' gritted out the last 40 minutes through sheer will. The Colts avenged the early season loss to local rivals Luctonians, in what is proving to be one of the most entertaining of rivalries. The home side took an early lead before taking the game over in the 2nd half. However, in testament to the significance of the rivalry the visiting side continued to battle on all the way to the final whistle.
