Description
Hathersage outdoor heated swimming pool is in the picturesque Peak District village of Hathersage, Derbyshire. It is truly unique to the area. Hathersage outdoor heated swimming pool is set in a lawned enclosure with fully refurbished and covered changing facilities, Toilets, Hot showers and disabled access. Every year from March through to September It offers the opportunity to swim in the open air, amidst the glorious Peak District scenery, in water which is heated to 28°C. It is a truly unique facility with a full size band stand looking over the pool which is often in use. Every third Friday of the month during the summer the pool hosts a "Night Swim" with live bands on the band stand allowing customers to swim whilst listening to a variety of music. In 2013 the pool was voted by the Telegraph "Number 1 Lido in the UK!"

We have been lucky enough to have been contacted by BBC Look North to do some filming and a News piece on the pool about the cold water season and the fact that we are open all year for the FIRST TIME EVER! If you enjoy swimming outdoors during the winter please come and support the pool during the filming. The pool temperature will be approx. 10C. Normal admission prices apply. Wetsuits are optional. We would love the pool to be busy during the filming and they would like to speak to some swimmers about their experiences with cold water swimming. The filming will commence at about 10am so please come along and have a dip you may even get your 5 minutes of fame!
