OUR MINISTRIES NEXT WAVE Everyday close to a thousand refugees cross from Turkey to Lesvos on rafts. Once here they register to seek asylum and wait for their papers before taking a ferry to Athens. They arrive in Lesvos with their only the pair of clothes on their back which are usually soaking wet. YWAM working under Euro Relief is working in several of the refugee camps on the island. Our teams are in the camps looking after a family compound, distributing dry clothes, and handing out hot tea. There is also plenty of opportunity outside of the camps to work with refugees, other organisations and reach out to locals. If you are looking to help in the refugee crisis and would like to spend some time in the Mediterranean, we have lots of opportunities!
