Sticky Fingers - Guisborough
Description
I am an Ofsted registered childminder based in Guisborough. I provide full time, part time and wrap around care to children from birth to 15 years old. Welcome to ‘Sticky Fingers Daycare.’ This is a privately owned child minding business run by myself, Michelle Mattches.
I offer a flexible childminding service tailored to suit children and parents needs, enabling me to deliver the best possible childcare.
I provide a professional and friendly service in a warm, clean and friendly home and am committed to providing high standards of care and learning for children of all ages, in a fun, safe and nurturing environment.
I live in Guisborough with my husband Peter who is a secondary school teacher. We have 2 children, Isabella who is 9 and Thomas who is 7. We also have an elusive cat called Mr.Darcey and 2 chickens called Betty and Honey.
We live in a 4 bed roomed house with the necessary adaptations needed for young children. We have a lovely big garden which has a trampoline, a swing, a sandpit and a slide in it.
I love working with children and have spent many years working in different environments. I spent a lot of time working with children with special needs in residential respite care. I specialized in working with severely autistic children as well as physically and mentally disabled children. From this I went on to set up a commercial holiday and out of school club for children aged 3 – 16 years old. Eventually I went on to take part in the Graduate Teacher Programme and worked for 3 years as a qualified primary teacher. Since then I have had my children and have loved being a stay at home mum. I have kept myself busy with a little sideline called ‘The Pampered Chef.’
Currently I am the chairperson of my children’s school PTA, ‘The Friends of Galley Hill.’ I am involved in organising fundraising events and also events for children and parents to take part in. I have also volunteered in school over the years my children have attended, going on school trips and helping with small group work in class.
I also help out with the local Brownies and Guides.
I decided to become a Childminder as it allows me to put into practice my teaching skills (with the planning and delivery of the EYFS and also the observation part) whilst allowing me to be around for my own children. I consider it a huge privilege to be entrusted with someone else’s children.
As a childminder your child is able to participate in the normal day to day activities involved in my household ie the school run whilst at the same time taking part in an engaging and stimulating EYFS programme which includes many play and learning opportunities.
I am an OFSTED approved, fully insured, registered childminder and can offer full or part time care for children from birth upwards. I have completed the Homecare Practitioner Course ran by the local authority. I hold a Paediatric First Aid certificate and also a Food Hygiene certificate. I have attended the local authority training course on ‘Safeguarding Children.’ Both my husband and I have a current and valid CRB.
I provide day care between the hours of 8a.m. and 5.30p.m. (this is flexible), Monday to Friday during term time only.
