Proofreading and copy editing If you are a business, an organisation or an individual, or if English is not your first language, I offer a personal, thorough and professional service to help you achieve a high standard of written work.
I will proofread or copy edit a wide range of fictional and non-fictional material, including books, short stories, plays, poetry, letters, journals, reports, essays, and academic work.
The cost depends on the size of the document and the level of proofreading required, but as a guide I charge between £5 and £12 per 1000 words. Extensive copy editing may be more. I offer special rates for larger manuscripts, students and returning clients. I am also happy to negotiate a fixed fee in order to avoid prohibitively high costs. I am a qualified teacher, private tutor and a trained counsellor, so I specialise in educational work, reports, reviews and essays.
