Summer swimming crash courses now available to book.

Dear Members Gym closure 1st June 2019 You may be aware we plan to close the gym on the 1st June 2019. I wanted to take this opportunity to explain the decision to close and update you on future plans for the sports centre. The decision to close the gym has not been taken lightly and has been based on a number of factors. You will be aware the that the equipment is ageing and the room is overcrowded with equipment, some of which is not being used, additionally maintenance costs are increasing. The gym usage itself is low, whilst other areas of the centre e.g. swimming sessions, astro-pitch and fitness class use continue to grow. Whilst we want to provide a gym these factors have led us to close the gym next month. We will be working towards creating a new gym for the community to use that will suit the needs of everyone. We will be taking the time to evaluate the type of gym to replace the current, and would greatly appreciate feedback from our members and the public on the type of gym you would like to see at the centre. We are however building plans to invest in refurbishment works to public areas including improvements to the changing rooms and the food and drink offer. We will still be offering full memberships to incorporate fitness classes and swimming at the same price. As mentioned we want your opinion on what you would like to see in that space.
