Massive thanks to MRC Tuning for mapping this RSQ3 today. Ended up at 426bhp after starting at 339bhp. A massive 517ftlb torque at only 2800rpm. Car is a riot overtaking now. Cometic recommend at least 50 Ra for an MLS gasket. My latest cutting tips are testing at low as 6.8 when coming off the cnc machine. Stock Audi head is around 45. No corners cut and the finest levels of detail and precision are necessary here

Yet more horror. Not only were the hub nuts held on with lockwire (not looped through correctly), the lower ball joints and track rod ends were too. Now fixed with split pins for a total cost of 10 pence. Completely lost for words here considering I've been out mapping in this. Now spending the rest of the day going through everything to make sure it's perfect

So the 900bhp GTR I'm mapping had a few issues I decided to investigate and found the "supercar specialist" who fitted the engine has used 0.5mm lockwire instead of split pins to secure all 4 hub nuts and not even looped it through. Dome head cheap bolts to hold the intake manifold down and half of them rounded. 7 boost clamps either a bit loose or had already slid off. The list of faults is massive and range from life threatening to costly. Why would anyone cut corners like this on a £100k car is beyond me especially when customer is happy to pay for it to be done right. Shocking what clowns are out there.

Sizing and balancing connecting rods. End for end weights and then machining to within 0.1g. Temperature controlled room. Proper blueprinting not fancy looking but meaningless pictures.
