For our final workshop of the week we all designed masks incorporating different painting techniques and of course lots of sequins and glitter! The end result were absolutely amazing! Inspiration came from a whole plethora of sources: comic book villains, the Cheshire Cat, ‘Toothless’ from how to train your dragon, Penniwise the clown, aliens and mermaids!! We also managed to find time to start painting the coil pots and mugs we made earlier in the week! Everyone on the course worked incredibly hard and so well together we all had a FANTASTIC time and it was a wonder end to a very busy summer holidays in the studio!! WELL DONE GUYS 💗💚💙💜🧡💛 When the habitats are fired and out of the kiln we will post photos of them all finished off! Today we had a busy morning finishing off our animal habitats and also throwing some pots on the wheel! The end results of the animal habitats were SO IMPRESSIVE!! Amelia and Annah made their hamsters fantastic houses for them to hang out in! 🐹🐹 Clark made a very intricate tunnel and den for his pet turtle 🐢 Rebecca made a Valhalla inspired habitat for her pet stick-insects 🐜 Erin and Emily made big hotels for their gardens complete with creepy crawlies 🐞 and Holly designed a Disney castle with all her favourite characters! 🏰 Everyone in the studio was incredibly impressed by all their hard work and patience and all their endeavours this week have produced excellent end results! 🐹🍉🐹🍉🐹🍉

🐹 🐢 🐝 🧚‍♀️ 🏰 We are already half way through our pottery camp and today we combined our knowledge of slab building, coil pots and punch pots to design and start to build different habitats for different animals! The idea was to encourage creatures into your garden or to create a wee hidey-hole for pets to hang out in so we have a lady bird hotel, a hamster hide out, an igloo for a turtle, a fairy castle and lots of other innovative original ideas! We will be finishing them off tomorrow by adding on leaves, cutting out doors and adding different textures and we cannot wait to see what they will look like when they are all painted! 🐹 🐢 🐝 🧚‍♀️ 🏰 #slabbuilding #ladybirdhotel #hamsterhideout #turtletent #whatsonglasgow #kidsceramicclasses

❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 We had another amazing workshop this morning with our talented artists using slab building techniques to create a whole range of pots, candle holders, mugs and plant pots! The kids took inspiration from a wide variety of sources, from Norse runes to geckos and the end results were sensational!!! Keep your eyes peeled for what they will look like when they are all painted! Our artists know how to work had but also play hard and still managed to find time for some games of darts! We had a FANTASTIC start to our pottery camp this morning by using some basic coil pot and punch pot techniques to create a whole range of animals, including dragons 🐉 lantern fish 🐠 hamsters 🐹 narwhals 🐳 unicorns 🦄 bunnies 🐰 and dogs! 🐶 all the young artists on the course impressed us all with their imagination and skills and it’s only DAY ONE!! Over the course of the week the coil pots will be sponged, fired, painted using underglaze and then fired one final time before they are ready to go home! Over the course of the week we will be learning all about clay, different methods of casting, hand building techniques and wheel work so keep your eyes peeled to see what we get up to!
