The Lodge will hold its annual Carol Service on Thursday 14th December for members , family and friends this is followed by a white table dinner which everyone is invited. If you are interested in attending why not message us.

Skittles evening at the Poachers Pocket A good number of members family and friends enjoyed a great evening at the Poachers Pocket Inn at Chelynch near Shepton Mallet. It was not easy to get all 39 players to complete 3 legs of skittles in the time permitted but in was done even stopping for a wonderful hot buffet at 8:30pm The champion at the end of the evening collecting the trophy was Jan Kerr a member of the Lodge and his good lady Pip won the ladies award , Carol was pleased to pick up the wooden spoon and put this down to having never played the game before. The WM Danny presented all the prizes and thanked his Senior Warden Roger for organising the event. This evening has now become an annual event and certainly is enjoyed by all who attend

50 Years of loyal Service W Bro Les Lillywhite was proud and honoured to receive a 50 year certificate from the PGM R W Bro Stuart Hadler at the Installation meeting of the Royal Somerset Lodge on Thursday 12th October. The PGM performed a “This is your Life “ type of presentation which was thoroughly enjoyed by all present. W Bro Les was a perfect recipient and engaged fully with the PGM.

Tercentenary Dinner & Presentation Frome Freemasons will be holding a white table evening following the Forest of Selwood meeting on the 21st September. Family and friends are invited to join both the craft lodges for this final event in the Frome Tercentenary calendar, W Bro Barry Mccormack APGM will be leading a small Provincial team on a fraternal visit to 8912 and will then with their partners join in the celebrations. During the evening a presentation will be made to the MENDIP YMCA who have been the chosen charity for the Tercentenary events, other local celebrities will also be on the invitation list as a thank you for their help during the Summer Fete which was an overwhelming success. Frome certainly embraced the Tercentenary using it to engage with the local community . Well done Frome Freemasonry .

The June meeting being the last before the summer break attracted 20 guests 9 of which came from The Priory Lodge 6913 on a fraternal visit. With the WM still unable to attend through ill health, W Bro Steve Booker took the chair for the evening . The main business of the evening was to pass Bro Jack Nevin to the degree of a fellow Craft Freemason and the WM entrusted him in the usual manner, he then invited W Bro Richard Dredge to take the Chair to complete the ceremony. W Bro Richard was assistant by the WM who presented the SE Corner and the second degree tracing board while Bro Paul Dicken took on for the first time the extended version of the w/ tools. The evening was watched over by W Bro Ben Batley Assistant Provincial Grand Master and V W Bro Ray Guthrie Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master, both members of the lodge. Frome Freemasons open day The two craft lodges in Frome are holding an open day on the 24th June. All are welcome to visit the Masonic Hall in North Parade , have a nice cup of tea and learn more about the good work Freemason do in general and for the local community. Learn about the charity fete on the 15th July and how you could help on the day with all profits going to MENDIP YMCA for the Youth Project at Vallis DOORS OPEN to the Hall on the 24th 10:30 am until 3:30pm

We must be doing something right as we have 4 joining members to come on board in October which is the start of our Masonic year and 2 possible candidates. If you treat your visitors correctly and show them great hospitality they sometimes become members!!!! A lodge without visitors is a lodge without a Masonic plan and maybe a future.
