The last week has been incredibly stressful and a huge learning curve! After sending some dresses to a client, the dresses were totally the wrong size!! After the initial panic from both us, checking and re-checking measurements - I still couldn't understand how I could have made such a huge mistake not just once but twice! The dresses I had made, were made to the measurements provided but they didn't fit. Just didn't make sense. To date, I had never made a mistake. After a lot of communication and confusion, I asked my client to check her tape measure. She had bought it new for this job so we had no reason to doubt it. She measured an A4 sheet using her tape measure and we realised that it was out by over 3 inches!! And A4 sheet should measure 11.69 and the tape measure was only reading 8 :/ At last, we had found the problem and I was not going mad after all! The last week has been a little crazy with re-ordering fabric, waiting for it to arrive, altering one dress and making another dress and I have finally got there. Moving forward, I will not get every client to double check the tape measure...or I will happily provide one :) It' at times like this, I am grateful for having such a fabulous and tranquil place to work from :)
