We have been so very lucky to have met some amazing people who like ourselves run a Tea Room or Coffee Shop .They too are passionate about their business. Our friends Ali & Bob have a wonderful award winning Coffee Shop down beside Dundee. Ali like myself likes to dabble with different flavours for her Soups & Scones. We were therefore delighted to have received’ The Flavour Thesaurus’ book. Bob was the one who told me about Tomato & Strawberry Soup and yes we had it on the menu last summer and it was surprisingly very popular. I’m looking forward to trying new and exciting flavours. Grateful thanks to Ali & Bob for thinking about us,for the kind words of expression and for the gift of the book. Now where is that baking bowl & soup pot!

On Sunday we had a lovely evening at The Aberdeen Business Awards at The Jury’s Inn Dyce . We were one of the five finalists in the category ‘Best Cafe’ and are delighted to inform you that we won. ‘Best Cafe’ 2018. We are now looking forward to the Grand Final in Glasgow on June 3rd. Fantastic that our wee cafe in the Broch has won two prestigious awards in one week. Both Awards have brought us so much pride & joy. To round it all off we got a mention in The Evening Express last night. What a week!! So very grateful to all our wonderful customers for your votes , the secret shoppers & the judges and not forgetting our three musketeers Alison, Maureen & Luke. Well done to all the other winners & finalists!

We both got a great surprise when we opened this card from one of our customers, a poem written specially for us in Doric!

CREMA Scotland’s Cafe Awards 2018. We were very honoured to be part of these prestigious awards on Sunday evening at the Doubletree by Hilton Glasgow. We are delighted that we received the runner up award for Best Cafe in Scotland.A massive achievement for our wee cafe. Many thanks to all our wonderful customers for all your votes and to the judging panel for putting us through. So happy that all our hard work and long hours has been recognised. Congratulations to Billingtons of Lenzie who won.
