facebook.comSuper start to show season at Mundole with a mild day for Show Jumping on 11 March and a very chilly but sunny Dressage Show on 18th. Milder weather brought a good entry at Mundole Equestrian Show Jumping, the first competition of the season. Although some still had snow and ice at home they were keen to get out to start competing. Aileen Ferrari was in good form qualifying for the Black Isle Show with 3 horses – for the 1 metre final - Chivas owned by Jackie Davidson and Aileen’s own horse, Puddle and for the 1.10 metre final, Joyce Henry’s Storm Ahead Ted. Also qualified were Halle Knight (Balhagarty Sabre Lily) and Avril Johnson (Jubilee) A cold but sunny and dry day was a good start for British Dressage and Unaffiliated riders at Mundole Equestrian. Entries came from Aberlour to Farr to Beauly. Some left snow at home and were delighted the arena at Mundole was in perfect condition for the competition. Affiliated competitors collected qualification for the Sheepgate Tack and Togs Championships. In the unaffiliated classes Halle Knight had a good day winning with both her horses – Balhagarty Sabre Lily was making her debut in the Walk and Trot section and Halle’s more experienced mount Celtic Star won Preliminary 15. Well done to all who braved the cold today for our last show of the season at Mundole Equestrian. The sun did appear at times and the rain stayed off which helped. Katharine Mieras from Top Spec weighed horses and discussed condition, feeding and nutrition - all were delighted to have such a knowledgeable and friendly chat. Katharine will come again next year and you can continue the discussion. A big thank you to Glenda our secretary, and Margaret who helped at several events this year. Mundole Equestrian would like to thank all competitors, judges, writers and helpers who have given us great support all year. Our last BD & Unaffiliated day was a great success. Results on website www.mundoleequestrian.com Judges Viv Graham, Garmouth and Kimberley Battleday, Fortrose had and exceptionally busy programme to judge at Mundole Equestrian’s last British Dressage and Unaffiliated Event of 2017. Avril Johnson brought seven of her horses to compete and led the way in several classes. Dressage trainers Stephanie Delpierre and Dominique Flament brought 2 stallions north for the week-end to compete and visit the area. Under the watchful eye of Viv Graham, Stephanie gave a very good execution of the very testing Intermediate II. This is the highest level of test on offer at Mundole.
