Here is a picture of the gorgeous Beau with her prizes from a dog show she went to last weekend. Beau won 'best rescue', 'the dog the judge would most like to take home' and then 'Best In Show'! Well Done Beau - you look fab with your rosettes!

Handsome Bailey came in today for a Castration. Here he is modelling his Pet-Shirt, a fabulous alternative to the plastic Buster Collar (AKA the Cone of Shame!). These shirts are brilliant after surgery (as they protect the wound but still allow your pet to go to the toilet) or if your pet has allergies. They can also work to help reduce anxiety! Please call the practice for more details or ask a Vet or Nurse if you would like your pet to have one post-operatively. How cute!

The handsome Archie came in to see us yesterday morning as he was very poorly and had been off his food and vomiting. Alex decided to x-ray him and could clearly see that Archie had eaten something he shouldn't have! Archie had to undergo an Exploratory Laporotomy (Ex-lap) to remove a large - and very sharp (!) stone. After a short overnight stay in Hospital Archie was well enough to go home and we are pleased to report he is back to his normal cheeky self!
A short notice to our clients - we have had a few people messaging this facebook page if their pets are unwell. This page is checked periodically and so if there is a problem please do not send a message to this page. If you feel that your pet is unwell please ring the practice on 01342 824452 or if it is Out of Hours please ring the on call phone on 07837 131963. We would hate for your pet to miss out on urgent treatment or veterinary attention. Thank you!

Wednesday Puppy Fix! The gorgeous Bowie came in to see us today for his second vaccinations, and his dad Ziggy came for moral support. He is a super cheeky Springer Spaniel puppy who enjoyed a cuddle with our nurses and an explore of the practice. Cute! He will soon be joined by a little brother, to be name Major Tom. We love the David Bowie themed names!

There was an air of excitement in the Practice today as we had a delivery of our new multi-parameter machine. This allows us to monitor temperature, pulse, respiration rate, oxygen saturation, ECG and C02 concentration whilst patients are under anaesthetic. Naturally it does not replace our lovely anaesthetic nurses - but it is extremely helpful!

JULY'S BRAVEHEART AWARD GOES TO CHILI! The gorgeous Chili came in to see us as he had a nasty wound on his side caused by a burst abcess. Due to the nature of the wound he was put under a General Anaesthetic to clean and suture the wound. A drain was also placed to allow drainage from the site. Chili stayed in overnight to monitor his progress, and his wound site was cleaned regularly, and lasered. Throughout his stay in hospital he was a perfect gentleman, and purred even when we were cleaning his wound! Well Done Chili for being a fabulous patient and a very good-natured boy!

Here is Pandora the duck having a cuddle with Alex. She came in with Bumblefoot, an infection which causes painful swelling and lesions on the feet. Alex disinfected the wounds and applied some stitches, and also gave Pandora some pain relief. She has been coming in for K-Laser therapy to aid healing and is doing really well!
Look at little Betsy after missing for 5days came back with a broken leg and dislocated hip. Alex did surgery to remove her leg and as you can see the next day she was already happily running about. She is now resting at home with lovely mum and we can't wait to see how she's getting on.
