Hi folks, been a while. We've had a right old mix of weather of late. Thunder storms, blue skys, high temperatures. Overall the fishing has been quite good, the fish are certainly playing hard but. Lots of broken leaders and hooks straightened, the swear box is doing well Haha. The loch did reach a high of 21degrees, put the fish down for a wee while, intermediate & long leader black or green fritz doing well. Feeding slightly deeper in the water but still happy to come up for days. Yellow owl and humpies doing well. Some of the returns. Hi folks been a while sorry. We've enjoyed some cracking sport this last week. While the big rain we had fairly helped freshen up the loch and the fish certainly welcomed it. Friday night saw some of the hunterston lads come for an evening session and despite the thunder and lightning and torrential rain the lads were in good form and making a mad dash for the hut when the lightning started, even a couple of sheep took shelter in the veranda, but it didn't deter the fish. There have been some really good rises in the mornings and evenings and all day when conditions were right. Mixture of the usual lures but some days the fish won't even look at them just wanting small flys. Humpies, cdc's, grunters, buzzers, diawl bachs, snatchers all doing well. Some catches. Hi folks. It's been a funny old week. Fish are feeling hard just below the surface, sooking up tiny buzzers, there's the odd olive and sledge going about but the cool wind is keeping a good hatch at bay. Ben had a frustrating day on Friday 2 hooks straightened, broken twice, dropped 5 landed 4 fish. A first time fishing with her dad Liam young Tiegan Stewart had good fun in the kiddies pond, dropped 4 but dad managed to net 2fish. And young sam Ritchie had a cracking 3lb blue on Saturday. Harbour lights were in on Saturday, the day started good then got more difficult as day went on. Heaviest 4fish 11.6lbs and heaviest fish 4.8lbs went to john Galloway. Hi there. Apart from the odd day of strong winds, torrential rain, thunder and lightning the weather's been okay this last week. Yesterday morning saw the loch bubbling with fish on the feed. The lads from hunterston A/C were geared up for a good day's fishing but whilst some of the lads did well some found it hard going. Brian Duffy sat most of the day on the heaviest fish only to be ousted by Allan Clark with a last minute weigh in with a 4.6lb fish. The Rods And Reels thunder ball winner Danny Quigley was very pleased with his new Sierra punge rod netting 4 fish, dropping and missing a few. Still the odd heather beetle and a wee hatch of dark olives on the go. Diawl bachs, Drys, buzzers, beetles and lures are the order of the day. A few of the catches from last week.
