Chester & District Federation of the Blind - CDFB
Description
CDFB is a local charity run by and for people who are blind or partially sighted. It is our aim to tackle social isolation across Cheshire. Chester and District Federation of the Blind (CDFB) is a member led organisation and exists to promote social inclusion amongst people who are blind or partially sighted.
CDFB's services help to improve the quality of life for people living with a visual impairment. I.T. training classes are held across Cheshire alongside audio described trips to some of the region's finest landscapes which are held regularly throughout the summer months.
Social clubs held daily at various locations encourage members to get out of the house and meet new people without feeling embarrassed or self-conscious; and our audio described cinema club means members don't miss out on the latest movie releases!
Behind our services lay our many fundraising activities, often organised by some of our visually impaired members. We run regular collections around Ellesmere Port, Chester and Runcorn and trade through two charity retail stores in Ellesmere Port and Runcorn.
