How can you help an older pet enjoy their life? (1) let them lay in the sunny spot, (2) feed them little and often, (3) give them a gentle massage and (4) keep walks to a slow and steady pace (with plenty of opportunities to enjoy a good sniff!). What else can you do?

Female ferrets can develop serious health problems if they don't mate regularly, so it is best to keep them with a vasectomised male or simply spay them!

Meet Minerva - Minerva is a continental giant, she weighs in at 7kg. Minerva is owned by Emma one of our e-vet nurses, Emma brought her in for a health check last night. We all loved meeting her she’s a real gentle giant!

Cats will use scratching posts not only to maintain their claws but also as a deliberate message to other cats. If you notice that your cat has increased how often he uses the scratching post or is using other objects, ring the surgery to speak to a member of our team.
Taking on a new-to-you rescue kitty? Do your homework! Find out as much as you can about your new pal and ease them in gently. Provide a safe and secure hiding place for them. Cats are curious, they'll soon want to be your friend!
