FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL JITTERS? These tips from the pediatricians of a Medical Group can help your child get off to a great start in school...... 1. Allow your child to express his/her fears without judging her feelings. 2. To build confidence, remind her of other times she succeeded despite initial anxiety. 3. Make preparations like back-to-school shopping a celebration. 4. Go to the open house at your child's school to see the classroom and meet the teacher. 5. Rehearse walking to the bus stop and saying good-bye and saying hello to the teacher. 6. Adjust bedtimes and wake-up times now, so your child will be in the routine before school starts.
Hi there Folks, one of our members has contacted us to inform us that outside Fenhurst Gardens there was an electrical fire due to a faulty transformer. If people are travelling towards the area it would be best to avoid the connecting Road from where the school is. The national grid should be fixing it soon.

From our Ward PCSO Diane... This week I have done extra patrols in Edgware Parks and will hopefully do more over the weekend. This is due to reports of rubbish left in the parks. The parks being very busy with families and also people drinking and possible drug use. Especially when it is summertime, when the parks are busy, I also noticed that it can be very intimidating if dogs are running off leads. Owners may know the dogs are safe and will cause no problems, but the public may not. If the dogs are on a lead you can also ensure that they are under control, also that your dog is safe from other dogs and children. *IMPORTANT * Please also remind children.... Not to touch a dog that you do not know – Always ask the owner first. If a dog is scared or startled it may bite. Don’t tease dogs – this week I saw 5 different children running after dogs trying to poke it/ stroke it. (These children were with parents !) If a dog is scared or startled it may bite If you do get chased by a dog..... Don’t run away, If you run away, possibly screaming the dog will chase you. Difficult, but stop, stay where you are and fold your arms. Stonegrove Park has signs at the entrances that require dogs to be on leads. Edgwarebury Park requires dogs to be on a lead in the ornamental gardens.
