Angel has FINALLY given birth! Bit of a fuzzy photo taken at 6.30 am but looks like 3 babies. She must have become pregnant just before she came to us. But we know who the dad is (Theodore) as he came to us too after they were separated. Have fun today Pam!

Last call everyone! Next Sunday is our sponsored walk to raise funds for the new shelter. We have just received planning permission for this so it's all systems go to find the money! Please get in touch to aprillodgeguinea@aol.com if you'd like to take part or sponsor any of the walkers. Bring kids and dogs (and some ready change for the tombola at the end!) Another manic morning at the shelter with two new admissions who will be looking for a new forever home once they've been checked, bathed and settled a bit. Daisy and Poppy. Lovely girls.

Several guinea pigs have been admitted for re-homing in the last few days (photos to follow after they've calmed down a bit) All newcomers go into the quiet part of the shelter which is due for re-building so they can be assessed, come to terms with their new environment, be handled gently until they are ready for the next stage of their lives. Molly and Mandy - beautiful girls. Molly is a stunning agouti aby. Well handled but filthy so will need some bathing. Mandy is white,cream, brown but also dirty so needs beautifying. Blaze - beautiful, young, well handled gold/red single boy. Mr Fudge - ex foster boy, recently lost his companion. 6 years old so we hope to find him a friend soon. Blue - stunning young white/grey aby boy. Bad infected wounds from fighting so he's having treatment to get him well again before we find a new life for him. Patrick - young, dark cream teddy boy. Had also been fighting but here to calm down before going out into the world again. And we expect more tomorrow.....

YPPEEEEEE!! Dover District Council have just granted us planning permission to re-build and extend the manky part of the shelter. For those who visit us - that's the small 'lodge' part at the back where the hay is kept and all the new or sick piggies go. Great news as we can provide more room, make it better insulated for all weathers and safer for the pigs. We just need to raise the money now......... Anyone got a spare £25k?! :)

Super soft, squidgy Pepper loves his meds! Easy peasy, doesn't even need to be held and practically sucks the syringe dry!! Because he has a minor health condition (hence his daily dose of Frusol) Pepper is available for fostering which means no charge for him, free vet care if required (with our vet) and various discounts on boarding and anything bought from our shop. He is paired with his equally soft, squidgy and fluffy girlfriend -Saucy. You would need to live within 25 miles of the shelter and be familiar with guinea pigs to take these two but they truly are a lovely pair and great to handle.
