Just read excellent article in today's "Physiotherapy" journal re: Physical activity post-stroke. So many different factors to assess when looking at Physical Activity for rehabilitation. It's not all about just their Physical Ability. Personality, attitudes, cognitive and emotional factors, social and occupational drivers, fear.....the list of multiple complex layers that we consider and build into our intervention and interaction with our Neurological clients goes on. Wow - did you watch this documentary last night and tonight? Wouldn't it be great if we can start up something similar in Retford? I can offer all the Physiotherapy in the programme at the clinic, but if 4 years olds can have such a huge positive effect on balance and mobility, memory and mood, surely this is the way to go? And the kids seemed to love the experience too. http://www.channel4.com/programmes/old-peoples-home-for-4-year-olds/on-demand/64374-001
