Four jewelled gold falcon-headed articulated collars were found among the wrappings of Tutankhamun's mummy. They had been folded and placed low down near his legs. Recreations of these can be seen in the Tutankhamun Exhibition.

Amulets like these were used for talismanic protection. Some of them would be placed on the body in preparation for the burial.
