#TBT To those Glory Old Bagel Days It won't be long now, my lovelies Breakfast is almost ready ❤️
WE NEED YOU... With all the newness going on at Feast we wondered whether we should go the whole hog and give it a new name too! So in the spirit of sitting down with a cuppa and figuring things out, we are inviting you to join us, virtually, to make this decision. So boil the kettle (or pour a glass of wine, it is after 6 now) and talk amongst yourselves over dinner tonight, if you were me...what would you call it? If we choose a new name and it's your suggestion, lunch is on us when we re-open and we'll bestow upon you a bottle of something chilled to celebrate your geniusness ☺️❤️ Get creative you lovely lot, and help me out! J xx
Anyone else done the Locomotion, The Twist and been one half of the 'Islands in the stream 'duet this morning or is that just me? You know the best bit about dancing in the car..watching the miserable morning people pretend not to see you, wearing their proper grown up 'going to work faces' ☺️ I'm going to work too, I'm building anew shop...😍, I'm also not sure I own a proper grown up going to work face 😳 Get out there and scare the grown ups today, play those tunes LOUD and sing your little hearts out...throw in a move or two if it is safe and legal to do so 😉💃🏻 Happy Monday my lovelies ❤️
It's all about Sunday dinner and a whole lot of table talk and catching up ☺️ Made with love by me for happy bellies; and yes I know the puddings caught a teeny bit on the top and the stuffing looks like it was charred but its not...and this wasn't about creating instagrammable food it was about filling tummies and making memories. I'm a Mamma, this is what we do ☺️💪🏻 Here's hoping you all had a happy Sunday that filled your bellies and recharged your mind ready for a storming week..❤️ J x
That Feast Friday feeling ☺️❤️☺️ These little faces were sent to me last night and oh my word did they make me smile ❤️ These little guys are part of my Feast family...and not so little any more! Some of our original Feast babies, we can't wait to welcome you all back and watch the next generation of our Feast family grow. It's the most important thing, being a Mamma myself, that children are a huge part of what we do, we encourage sticky fingers and growing tastebuds...more children have been raised on Feast soup....☺️ If you have any similar photographs whizz them onto our wall for a good dose of nostalgia ☺️
'From little acorns, big oak trees grow' I had a card stuck to my pin board above my desk with this written on it, it has been there since we opened Feast originally in 2006 I found this little guy on the floor outside feast today...and it's perfect! As Acorns go..this is a beauty ☺️ Goodness knows where it came from, there aren't that many big old oak trees outside the shop, not that I have noticed anyway 😬 So to me it's a sign One of those perfectly lovely, unexplainable, means everything is going to be ok kinda signs To the cynic, it's an acorn dropped on the floor from a bird that got too tired to carry it, or it fell out of the pocket of a child who picked it up on a walk Both highly likely.. Then the romantic in me says 'but they dropped it right there, right outside my door for me to find...it's a sign' And now it's in my pocket, I'll carry it as excitedly as the child that found it and show it to anyone crazy enough to listen to me, because it makes me happy Do more of what makes you happy Take pleasure in the small things....it's from these that the big things grow ❤️🌳

I spy with my little eye.. A new shop coming ❤️
As I sit here in the beautiful sunshine outside the shop, watching people watching me wondering what on earth I'm doing sat amongst a pile of old furniture and wicker hampers on the pavement, I realise a few things; I have emotional attachments to inanimate objects. This is not good and makes me a borderline hoarder.....this is not news to my friends. In my defence, these inanimate objects have created the bare bones of FEAST for a long time. I loved 'vintage' long before it was called 'vintage' I used it because I loved it, because it reminded me of a time when life was slower in pace, which leads me to my next realisation... I was born in the wrong era 😬 I definitely think I'm not ready for this era, and I'm not sure it's ready for me ☺️ we need to always make time for tea...made in a teapot and drunk around a table with friends. I'm not a fan of the takeaway cup...ironic considering my business! And the love of tea is good because I'm on the edge of the biggest lifetime adventure since I had my children, redeveloping and reopening FEAST and there's going to be a lot of tea made and a lot of conversations had around the table as I share the inevitable highs and lows, and fears and dreams with you lovely lot...it's nice to know you are here for the journey. And if there's one last thing I know, that's reinforced to me whilst sat here in my pavement heaven outside my little piece of lovely...it's that I absolutely would not be sat here in this sunshine reflecting on life and old chairs without the help and support of you. I opened my heart and I asked for help and here I am...weeks away from a new business and the next chapter of my life. So... Take time to make tea in the pot, drink it with friends and talk ❤️ Never be afraid of change ❤️ Always wave to strangers in passing cars...it makes their day, and they will spend the rest of their journey wondering who on earth you are ☺️ Me...I'm just that crazy woman in the street on a funny old chair in the late afternoon sunshine, feeling happy and brave ❤️ J X
It's STARTED! Work on the shop is go go go...I can't wait to share photos with you of what we are creating..it's going to be EPIC I still cannot believe that this is happening Dreams come true ❤️ J X
