A team from CLASP (Community Landscape Archaeology Survey Project) are carrying out geophysical surveys on Borough Hill today. They hope they have identified the site of the Romano-British building that Jeremiah Bottfield excavated back in the 19th Century. Their work is part of a joint project with Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA) who are in the process of surveying the whole of the Hill. More than 5,000 blue-lidded recycling bins have so far been distributed across the District as we prepare for major changes to waste and recycling collection services on 4 June. Please remember the new bins are only to be used when the new collection service is introduced from 4 June. Please continue to use your red and blue boxes for recycling until that date. Join the Judit Singers and the Whilton Warblers for a concert at the Holy Cross Church in Daventry on Saturday 28 April in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. The musical director for both choirs is well known soprano Judit Felszeghy, who will also be performing, and the accompanist is Andrew King. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Taking delivery of blue-lidded recycling bins today. We've teamed up with DASH Landlord Accreditation to hold this event in the Council Chamber in Lodge Road on Wednesday 2 May from 6pm to 8pm. It is aimed at residential landlords and letting/management agents who want to offer good and safe housing, and will feature presentations and advice from guest speakers about HMOs and other important information that all landlords should be aware of. Members of the Joy Mead Committee in Farthingstone, the Guardians of Winwick and Brington Parish Council (in partnership with Brington Gardening Club) have shared some pictures of the beautiful flowers that are in bloom following our Budding Communities project 🌺🌻🌼🌷 The project saw 39 community groups and primary schools across Daventry District provided with 16kg of wildflower seed and 4,600 spring bulbs for planting. Thank you to all the communities that took part!
