If you would like to apply for an allotment Please leave a message and the secretary will get back to you. Please inform us of your first and second choice of sites and we will try our best to place you at the site of your choice. The Association operates allotment sites across the Borough. These are in Wood Lane (near its junction with Porters Avenue and next to St. Elisabeth’s Church). Longbridge Road (to the rear of the flats in Longbridge Road between Highgrove Road and Stonard Road). Manning Road (situated in Manning Road). Fritzands Lane (situated in Crescent Road). Near Wood Lane we also have two further sites, in Bushway and Chittys Lane, and these are operated through the Wood Lane site. The remaining site is in Reede Road, near its junction with the Heathway. This site is entirely composed of raised beds and has mains toilets, so is ideal for those with mobility problems or special needs, but lettings are not confined just to those who fall within these groups. To also obtain an allotment you can see the site steward at the relevant site hut, who will be available most Sunday mornings between 10.30 and 11.30am. The exceptions to this are Wood Lane where the steward is available on Monday mornings or by appointment and Reede Road, which is by appointment only. To take a plot you will need to enrol as a member of the Association, which currently costs £1 and enables you to make purchases from the Associations’ trading huts located on each site except Reede Road, which the main office is situated at. In many cases the cost of items stocked is considerably less than those in retail outlets. Allotment rents for a year are currently £50.00 for a large plot (ten rod) and £25 for a small one (5 rod) per year. A special sliding rate applies at Reede Road.
