*** Sponsored Rider Race Report *** by Andy Marchant It has been a busy couple of weeks leading up to this weekend as I had some great news from my Sponsors Kestrel KTM that my bike was at the showroom. S,o last weekend I went and collected it and didn't waste any time getting the bike looking great with the Kestrel KTM graphics courtesy of ESP and also the SM Pro wheels made the finish the finishing touches to the bike. With the bike all run in, I headed to my home club race at Hazeley Grange near Cleobury Mortimer. The track was looking prime and with the rain forecasted through the day it was only going to make the track even better. I looked forward to getting out on the new Kestrel KTM as I could finally open the bike up. I felt positive through the practice session but with the bike still bedding in, I would have to wait and see what the races would bring. Race One I managed to get a good start and was in 3rd position. I pushed as hard as I could to gap the riders behind me but a few laps from the end I lost a place dropping to 4th position. I was stuggling to hold on so had to drop off the pace and bring it home. Race Two I started in about 5th position and with the rain starting to fall the track conditions were changing each race but I managed to adapt my lines and moved into 3rd position, just past the halfway point. I had a big gap in front of me to 2nd and was pulling away from 4th position so couldn't make any more progress and ended the race in 3rd position. Race Three I got a better start this time and was inside the top 3 but the rain was constant all the way through the race. I lost my goggles due to using all my roll off film. So after this my vision wasn't good so just took my time and again ended in 3rd position. I ended the day 3rd overall and felt it being the first time on the bike, happy with the result.
