This is Troy who comes to the wednesday drop in. He is a little nervous but always joins in and did some lovely tracking yesterday. We had lots of puppies in all under the age of 1 yesterday so after tracking and obedience we let them have some free play . Half of the owners were slightly worried they would t be able to get their puppies back in the big field . After 10 mins running riot guess what. All the owners were on different sides and all correct pups with owners . All they had to do was be more exciting than the other puppies and dogs came back no problem.

Haven't posted on here for a while as have come to the conclusion the dog owners on this page are what I class as sensible and good owners so you don't need me lecturing you on things you know. However if anyone wants a section on dog first aid or how to train a certain exercise feel free to ask and I will post on it. The pictures above are of a scent kit Made by Kerryanne Red James . They are used to teach scent work to dogs, they contain everything needed to work toward the scent work trials. However they are great fun in the winter when dogs don't get as many walks, they stimulate the dog and tire him mentally, they get the brain working and it's just something to do with your dog. Some of you may know that Blue indicates on drugs so I have swapped the scents in the pack for cocaine so the picture is him indicating on cocaine. But I will be using the normal kit on all the rest of my dogs. Happy scenting Lol
Tomorrow is last pet dog drop in of year so we will be having xmas party for dogs x

I was talking to a lady the other day. She told me that she had an incident on her walk with her dog, the story was as follows, she had her dog off lead when it went running over to a dog on a lead, she shouted to the owner "dont worry my dog is friendly" he told her to call her dog back, however the dog doesnt recall so the man got really cross and swore at her. she expected my sympathy. I explained that my wednesday class is filled with reactive dogs whose owners work very hard to get their dogs walking in a park with out reacting to other dogs and most of them stay on a lead and the one thing that will set them back is a dog running at them whether friendly or not, Especially if the dog has no recall, no excuse for swearing at her but can totally understand why he was so cross, recommended she keeps her dog on a long line till she has a recall and not to allow it to hurtle towards other dogs. What people fail to understand is the dog on the lead has no escape, he cant choose to interact or not with the other dogs
Today's drop in . Mixture of pet dogs and security dogs, reactive dogs and nervous dogs. Young dogs and old dogs. We spent the morning on tracking and then socialisation with some obedience thrown in. WITH NO ISSUES
