Description
Workshops for people interested in people Phil has worked in Cumbria for over 20 years offering Counselling, Psychotherapy, Supervision and Workshops in a wide variety of settings. He runs his own professional private practice from his beautiful home overlooking the River Derwent just outside of Cockermouth. He has worked as a counsellor and therapist, supervisor and trainer to a wide range of public and charitable organisations including Cumbria Education Service, Cumbria Fire Service, the Health Service, CADAS, Rape Crisis, West Cumbria Domestic Violence Service, Barnardo's and has contributed widely to Colleges offering training for counsellors.
Currently he also offers a psychotherapy group and monthly workshops on a wide variety of topics as well as a monthly discussion group teaching Transactional Analysis as a means of exploring personal relationships and wellbeing.
Phil also brings a wide range of other interests to enrich his work including many years Shamanic Training, Bushcraft Training and a passionate interest in Wilderness canoeing.
His style of work is compassionate and caring, insightful, challenging, confronting when necessary and, where appropriate, inclusive of a warm, playful, sense of humour.
Phil May holds: Diploma in Counselling, Certificate in Education, Winston Churchill Fellow, Shamanic Practitioner, Transactional Analyst in Supervised Clinical Training, Member of the Institute of Transactional Analysis.
