Agents for Zetor, Kverneland, Strautmann, Hardi, NC, Major, Sulki, and many more OUR HISTORY

The agricultural machinery dealership which trades under the name of James Gervais was established by James Gervais (1930-2007) in 1959. James born into a farming family outside Clogher in Co Tyrone had left school at 14 to work as an apprentice mechanic in the local firm of Johnston's of Clogher which provided the farming community of the Clogher Valley and much further afield with Ferguson tractors, machinery, hardware, etc. It was a defining moment in farming mechanisation with many farmers purchasing their first tractor.
In 1959 James branched out on his own and purchased a corner site in the village of Beragh eleven miles from Clogher where he built a workshop. Over the subsequent years through hard work and careful management he built up a sales and service business adding the then popular brands of Pierce, MIL, Bamlett, British-Lely, Vicon and David Brown.
In 1971 his former employer asked him to rent and then buy the workshop and spare parts store of Johnston's of Clogher.
During 1974 the Zetor tractor agency was added to the business and in 1983 the Deutz tractor agency was added to replace the David brown agency which had been transferred to the local IH dealership when Case IH was created.
Over the years consoldation in the agricultural machinery industry resulted in many famous brands being absorbed by larger companies and the leading brand names in our dealership now include Taarup, Kverneland, Zetor, Hardi, Strautmann, Major, NC and Quicke.
