Habits, good or bad, are formed and strengthened by repetition. The brain literally becomes hard-wired. For you and I to change our behaviour and thinking we must follow these 5 simple steps: 1. Decide what we REALLY want so we have something compelling to move towards. 2. Get clear on what is holding us back. What unhelpful patterns of behaviour and thinking are keeping us stuck? 3. Associate pain with not changing NOW. What might we lose or never experience if we continue with these same unhelpful patterns of behaviour? 4. Break the unhelpful pattern and decide on an alternative way of acting. This is not always easy but Hypnotherapy can support you with this. 5. Re-inforce and condition the new behaviour until it becomes hard-wired. Associate this new behaviour with achieving the future you desire.

Did you know?...Every thought and emotion you have creates a corresponding chemical and physiological response in your body. We often forget how much our thinking influences our body's ability to regulate and to heal. Its a topic very close to my heart, which is why i'm so excited to be attending a Psychoneuroimmunology course tomorrow. That word is a mouthful to say!! I'm looking forward to learning much more about this subject and applying it to my work with Hypnotherapy clients.

What can you feel grateful for? I love this simple yet beautiful picture from my daughter...it says it all! We keep it on our kitchen cupboard door. It reminds us as a family to love and live life fully. It reminds us to be grateful for all that we do have. Because to feel happy we MUST choose what we decide to focus on. What not try dedicating just a few moments each day to think about the things you can feel grateful for? By committing to this practise daily for 3 weeks it's possible to hard-wire your brain to notice more and more of the good things in your life. And that can have a transformational effect on how you feel generally! 😊

Just breathe

Learning how to calm the breath triggers our parasympathetic nervous response. Simply put it helps ease anxiety and triggers the release of feel-good hormones. Very simple but very powerful. http://m.imgur.com/gallery/liX1i
