Description
The Little Theatre by the Park is sited in Chesham's Old Town and is the ideal venue for functions, parties and also staging theatrical performances. The Little Theatre by the Park (formerly known as The Temperance Hall) is located in Church Street in Chesham's old town area next to Lowndes Park, and is the ideal venue for functions of all kinds, classes and public performances. The entrance is via the driveway alongside the building and is accessible for disabled users.
The large hall (14x7m) has a capacity for 90 and is licensed for public performances. Tables and chairs are available for hirers to use. The kitchen which adjoins the hall has a six ring gas hob and commercial gas oven, fridge and microwave oven for hirers to use. The stage at one end of the hall has a depth of approx 4m which can be extended. For those hiring the Theatre for a production there is a small Green Room alongside the stage and a dressing room and small cast kitchen upstairs.
The foyer has an open cloakroom area which includes a fold-down box office area which is useful when holding public events. Toilet facilities, including those for the Disabled, are accessed from the foyer. Parking is available in one of the many nearby car parks in the town.

Hopefully that's the last of the bad weather and we can enjoy a little spring sunshine now. The garden and Lowndes Park are kept tidy and beautiful by a great team of people including those from Chesham in Bloom - thank you, it always looks lovely.

'Cash on Delivery' is a classic farce written by Michael Cooney - Eric Swan (aided by his Uncle George and unknown to his wife, Linda) has pocketed thousands of pounds through fraudulent social security claims. When Norman Bassett (the lodger) opens the door to Mr. Jenkins (the social security inspector), deceptive mayhem follows – as do the undertaker, a bereavement counsellor, a psychiatrist, Norman’s fiancée, a corpse, the ominous Ms Cowper and a rather frantic washing machine! Having just returned from watching Voice of the Show's 'Pinocchio' tonight at the Little Theatre,I'd thoroughly recommend you see the show if you can. There are a few tickets left to watch tomorrow's matinee and evening performance of this innovative production before it closes on Saturday. I've just bought my tickets to see Pinocchio - don't delay too long as there's a limited capacity in the Little Theatre. If their previous production at the Little Theatre (A Christmas Carol) is anything to go by, this should be a really enjoyable show.
