UniCam is an UK based company, founded by Paul Butterworth- an award winning innovator of health and rehabilitation products.
Previously Unicam Health & Rehab The Unicam Therapeutic Pedal System has unique knee, hip and ankle mobilising functions and action. The pedal cranks can be adjusted to accommodate any range of movement as well as providing specific unilateral and bilateral strengthening fuctions.
Routinely used following knee, hip and ankle surgery, soft tissue injuries and arthritic conditions, Uni Cam systems offer:

Pain-free Exercise
Increased Recovery Rate from Surgery or Injury
Unique Ankle Mobilisation Techniques
Adjustable to ANY Range of Movement
Improved Circulation, General Health and Wellbeing

The Access TPS 3 is the top of the range Unicam Access system. It combines the Access ability to accommodate a wide range of lower limb injuries. The easy to use incrementally adjustable crank system provides a unique range of exercises for knee, hip and ankle mobilisation, strength and endurance training. This system provides the maximum functionality and meets the needs of diverse facilities handling the full range of lower limb conditions.

Patient driven Therapist controlled exercises offer repeatable and measurable outcomes.

High repetition of movement within short timescales promotes quick and effective increases in joint flexibility. Patients report a sense of achievement and motivation on a session by session basis.

When fitted with a Unicam therapeutic pedal system the clinical use of a standard cycle is greatly extended as it allows patients with lower limb impairments/injuries to use “Cyclotherapy” as part of their routine treatment.

The pedal crank on a conventional cycle is of a fixed length and requires a normal range of joint function and strength to be able to complete a full rotation. Unicam’s cleverly designed pedal system comprises of a crank arm with a series of nine locations to which a special pedal is attached. By using various configurations it is possible to progress a patient with loss of function and strength in the hip, knee, or ankle.

The Unicam Retroflex further utilises this unique movement to enable almost all abilities to enjoy the benefits of cycling.
Cycling regularily will help improve strength, joint mobility and reduce pain asocciated with stiff and painful joints.

Retroflex accommodates almost any restriction in knee, ankle and hip bend ranges and can be used on one or both sides.

Fits to the majority of exercise cycles and bicycles using a three piece square tapered crank or Isis crank arrangement.

Easy to follow fitting instructions
Fully adjustable
Manufactured from light weight alloy
Easily transferable from bike to bike

Very proud to announce one of my customers, Sue Southgate, has completed the lands end to John O Groats cycle challenge. This is one of the most iconic and arduous trips you can do on a bicycle, made even more difficult when you have a shortened crank and knee that doesn't work properly. Dear Paul Just sending you the photo to prove that 'we did it'!! --thanks to you and your 'magic pedal" It was very tough - mainly because of the awful road surfaces (Oh how we longed for smooth tarmac and the difficulties navigating through and around busy towns and cities (We wouldn't recommend trying to get through Glasgow in the rush hour on a Friday evening in the rain and getting yet another puncture but despite all this we actually enjoyed it (well sort of!) and there were some lovely moments such as cycling through Glencoe and watching eagles flying around the mountain tops - Magic! I have now been for all my pre op tests at Yeovil hospital and am waiting to go in for my new knee - Looks like that will be the beginning of September. Then it will be back on the bike as soon as possible! Thank you again for all your help Love, Sue

Nice to get such positive feedback from a customer who will shortly be attempting LEJOG Hi Paul Just to let you know we are off to Lands End in just over a week's time. My knee has been really bad and I'm getting the results of my xray on Tuesday (almost sure it's going to mean a replacement!😩) However, the one thing that really seems to suit my knee is cycling 😀. I know I could never have done this without my 'superduper pedal!'and I can't thank you enough. Thank you so much Sue

Nice to receive positive feedback from customers. This customer had a Retroflex for both sides, one leg with 90 degrees and the other 60 degrees of knee bend. "Hi Paul, I hope you enjoyed your vacation. I installed the Unicam cranks on my new bike. I purchased a bike trainer to try them out and get the correct settings for my condition before I tried them out on the trail. Today I took the bike up to a local school parking lot and gave them a try. I have to admit it is amazing how they work. You have an excellent product. It's a shame it is not better known where to find your product in the US. Thank you again for your help and your product. Today was the first time in 13 years I have been able to ride a bike. Best regards, Jim"
