Available Now - Kilkerran 8yo Cask Strength The first limited release from Kilkerran is available in the UK from today. Tasting Notes Nose - The aroma from the lightly peated barley is apparent from the off and some of the green apples which are becoming a feature of Kilkerran are also present. This whisky is like a favourite dessert, rhubarb crumble, with scents of stewed rhubarb, vanilla and all butter shortbread. Taste - There’s an earthiness and saltiness, exactly what you want to taste in a Campbeltown dram. This is combined with icing sugar and puff candy which gives a sweetness to the whisky, along with milk chocolate and walnut flavours. Finish - The peat remains, along with a sootiness, pencil shavings and a liquorice-influenced maltiness. Matured in 100% bourbon casks, the KK 8yo CS will retail at around £48.00 and there will be approximately 9,000 bottles available worldwide. Kilkerran 8yo CS is available in the UK today and in other countries/markets in the coming weeks. Please contact your local retailers and stockists for more information, details of whom can be found by visiting: http://www.kilkerransinglemalt.com/trade/

Something a little bit different now The pictures you can see here are taken from Mt Kilkerran and were sent to us by David Mitchell. David, along with John Tennant, climbed Mt Kilkerran on Fergusson Island in Papua New Guinea as part of a survey expedition to identify and collect where necessary butterflies for science. So we sent them some Kilkerran 12yo to drink out of some Fergusson Dram glasses as there seemed no more appropriate occasion to enjoy our whisky. We at Mitchell's Glengyle want to take this chance to congratulate David and John on their successful adventure and I hope you enjoyed the dram guys. (Don't know exactly when they will see this post as I gather they are soon to set off on another expedition to Sudest Island)
