facebook.comOops, forgot to say ,when we were down in England delivering the foals we picked up this Lagalgarve mare that we bred 12yrs ago and left us as a yearling , sadly her owner died and she had to move on. She is back home with us now being a companion /gentle hack and next year we hope she may have a foal as her mum was full sister to Lagalgarve Ben Ghuilean and Lagalgarve Capercaillie's mum, if she doesn't have a foal she can carry on as a companion. Here she is with my grandson Connor
Big weekend last weekend ,We took Ben and Vatersay down to England to their new homes,The roads a little 'interesting' but mainly clear of snow, and the views were just awsome ,with snow covered peaks reflected in glass calm lochs, only prob. was I forgot the camera ! [don't have a smart phone, no signal up here] but all went like clockwork. I'm so proud of my wee boys they loaded with just a hand on the bum and a 'walk on' no raised voices,no ropes and no smacking,IN THE DARK ! they travelled well on there big trip and have settled in their new homes.Raasay was sadly not able to come with us as his new mum had loss of grazing and other probs. he may be going down the spring or he may be for sale
Allan says Happy new year to all his children and friends
The first Lagalgarve pony in New Zealand ! He flew out with me last month, his name is Lagalgarve Pegasus and here he is with his new owner Keeva ,my grandaughter.I think he is enjoying a good brushing
Well now it's the turn of Benbecula who will be the last pony of the year to be for sale from Lagalgarve, though Allan the stallion has been busy so there should be 5 new babies in the spring.Ben like the other foals is by resident stallion the handsome and gentle Marnoch of Millfield [Allan to his friends]his dam is our grand old lady Erray Ilex who I think is looking very good for 21.Ben is a little older than the other foals and was born on the 14th of March he has had more handleing than the others being born prelambing when we were less busy and he is a very friendly chap.Ben will also be £950 he is a smart boy and will make some one a lovely pony.
Well now that little Vatersay is sold and off to a nice lovely home at weaning, were if he is a good boy he may get to keep his 'bits',it's the turn of Lagalgarve Raasay to look for a nice new home. Raasay is also by our stallion Marnoch of Millfield out of the home bred mare Hazel.Raasay's full sister is Lagalgarve Loch Lussa who you may have herd of as she is doing very well in the show ring and now starting to turn her hoof to jumping.his other full sister Lagalgarve Maroa was shown this year as a brood mare with foal at foot with huge success.sorry this is not the best photo folks but flat gound is a bit hard to come by up here. Raasay will be ready to go in October and I could deliver 400 miles or so at cost of fuel.message me for more details
Exciting new this week, another Lagalgarve pony is off to Germany, this time it is Lagalgarve Tarawera [Tara] who has been staying with Carolyn Ashcroft to be more accesable for people to come and see her and to get more handleing, her sister Lagalgarve Ngaurhoe [Nara] who went down to England at the same time is going to be staying at Heald town Stud to join them as a brood mare. The other news is that the lovely Lagalgarve Skylark is going to Amanda Kay for training and then for sale,I think this mare will be one to watch!
