Akeley Wood Livery & Training Yard
Description
Specialist training for young and troubled horses. Free 1 hour assessments. Riding lessons for all levels of experience. Liveries also available. Akeley Wood Livery Yard found its origins as a training yard run solely by Valerie Guse. As the business expanded Val found she was over run with people bringing her their horses for her to train. Enter Chris Guse, Vals son, sparring partner and invaluable counterpart! Chris took to horsemanship and training like a duck to water and between Val and Chris there are very few problems, both rider and horse, that they can't overcome. Specialising in youngsters and problem horses, Val and Chris found that the people that they were giving lessons to were buying horses from them and staying on the yard, hence the idea of a livery yard was born. Back in 2011 tentative plans were put in place to give the yard an overhaul, making the most of the brilliant surroundings we have and also adding in new, state of the art facilities. Work started in the summer of 2012 and with only two men it is still proving a long old job. Progress, although it feels slow to Karl and Chris, is being made in huge steps; the outdoor school is now in, jumps up, indoor stabling up and many more plans in the pipe lines. This is an exciting new yard and the perfect opportunity for you give your horse the lifestyle he deserves.
