It was a lovely sunrise at Holly Brook yesterday. Back to rain now...
MONET MOOR was disappointing yesterday. After her first run at Wincanton, when she showed promise for the future, I was expecting her to run much better than she did. She had a ‘flu vaccination about a fortnight ago and I’m wondering if it has taken her longer than usual to get over it. She seems fine after the race but I’ll be keeping a close eye on her. She is entered to run at Exeter next Tuesday, 19th January, but is very unlikely to run. Regards, Jim
Monet Moor is all ok after her run. She really struggled with the ground and is still learning the tricks of the trade, she has a lot to gain.
Just a quick Update to let you all know that Monet Moor will now be ridden by Paul O’Brien, claiming 7 lbs., in the race at Taunton tomorrow.
MONET MOOR has been declared to run at Taunton tomorrow (Wednesday, 13th January) in the Broadway & Horton Cricket Club ‘National Hunt’ Novices Hurdle over 2 miles 3 furlongs. The race has been divided and she runs in the first division which is timed for 1.40 p.m. – the first race is now at 1.10 p.m. Bryony will ride her and the going is still described as ‘Heavy’, which is hardly surprising!
Today we ran Buzz Barton at Wadebridge Point to Point. Robert Hawker was on board. Unfortunately Buzz Barton fell at the 1st fence but thankfully both of them are ok.
MONET MOOR has been entered to run at Taunton next Wednesday, 13th January in the Broadway & Horton Cricket Club ‘National Hunt’ Novices Hurdle over 2 miles 3 furlongs. The race is timed for 2.10 p.m. and the going at present, not surprisingly, is given as ‘Heavy’. I’ll be in touch again nearer the race. Regards, Jim
With ARCHIE RICE also sidelined at the moment, I am looking for a replacement for the Club as a matter of urgency and will keep you informed as to progress. I hope that both MONET MOOR and RAILWAY VIC will return to the course in the next couple of weeks and as usual I’ll be in touch as soon as I have more news. Regards, Jim
RUSTY NAIL ran a disappointing race at Ludlow on Monday and I do feel that as he is now 11 years old, we have probably seen the best from him. After some heart-searching on the way home on Monday, I think it is time to move him on to a new home. He will make an ideal point to pointer for a novice rider and we will be looking for a good home for him.
