Here is the lovely Rorey enjoying some desensitisation of the veterinary environment before his Total Hip Replacement next week. It's fair to say he's loving the attention & is such a clever boy.

More photos of Missy from this week. Missy was with us for a Total Hip Replacement. She has had problems with her hip for some time now and has tried all the conservative measures to help with mobility and pain.Unfortunately we reached a point where nothing was working for her and surgery was an option we had to consider. As an ex rescue dog she is very anxious about staying in kennels so in order to allow her to have the surgery she needed we have worked really hard to help build her confidence with the team. Here you can see how relaxed she is now with our nurse Abbi. We have a fantastic team and if you have a nervous or anxious pet who needs surgery we can offer advice and help to get them over their fears.

Our friend Indi enjoying the snow

Our Happy Friday photo this week had to be seasonal. We may all have found the snow difficult and problematic, but our canine friends have had a great old time! We'd love to see how much fun your pets have had in the snow this week so why not post a couple of photos below. Keep safe and warm this weekend everyone!

We have vets and nurses all in at the surgery today looking after our inpatients and emergency cases. The conditions currently in West Yorkshire are severe with blizzards, so we are advising clients to check before travelling, and reschedule any appointments if they feel it is unsafe to travel. Please keep safe and warm. You can phone us any time day or night for advice. A big thank you to our amazing vets, nurses, admin and managers who have made it in today- you are amazing.

Here are some amazing photos of the very handsome Jarvis. Jarvis came to see Andy as he had been having problems walking and had very painful hips. Andy gave advice on lifestyle changes that could be beneficial, so part of Jarvis's management was to lose some weight. Over the course of the last year Jarvis has lost 4kg and looks great. The photo below where he is lying down is the "before" and the other 2 are the "after". He also now feels fantastic, he is full of energy, enjoys running again and can now have his hips examined without demonstrating any pain. We are really pleased to see how much Jarvis is back to enjoying a full and happy life, and we wanted to share his story and show that simple lifestyle changes can often bring excellent results. Whilst there are surgical options for hip osteoarthritis, hip replacement etc our surgeons will always explore all the options with each patient in the first instance and advise surgery only when conservative options have been explored. Our patients are all individuals with different needs and wishes. Brilliant job Jarvis!
