The last 2 nights we stayed at the fantastic Tamara resort in Coorg. 56 beautiful cottages on stilts, private balconies, spa, indoor and outdoor pool and more. The plantation walk (it's set on a coffee plantation) was excellent. They run yoga and meditation sessions, trekking in the dry season and more. The food was also top class. This is definitely best for honeymoons or other romantic getaways, or just to experience nature after a busy tour. Very beautiful - I wish we could have stayed longer!

Last night we stayed in The Kabini River Lodge at the Nagarahole National Park. Lovely range of accommodation available at this eco friendly lodge - from the little cottages to dorms. It is a very reasonably priced place to discover nature and has game drives departing from here and boat safaris. It is so peaceful, the food is lovely, and staff were very knowledgable and friendly. The game drives were excellent - in rainy season the boat rides are more suited to bird watchers as the larger animals can get water anywhere so stay in the jungle. The Nagrahole Park (875sq km) is home to elephants, wild dogs, spotted deer, monkeys, mongoose, wild boar, jungle bison, leopards and of course, tigers!!

Beautiful hotel, very peaceful although it is literally a few km from Mysore Palace. The rooms are huge! Perfect for a peaceful location but only a tuk tuk ride away from the hustle and bustle of Mysore with its silk factory, Palace, sandalwood factory, colourful market and more!
