***BIG TIGERS AND BOW WAVES AT LEDCRIEFF*** With a wet and windy few days behind us, we have had fewer than expected angler out. For those who have ventured out, they well well rewarded. All 5 species have being showing up in the catches with Tigers and Rainbows up to 7lb being caught and brown up to 4lb. Blues are featuring heavily in the catches and although slightly smaller around the 2lb mark, these fish are giving a great fight. In terms of tactics, everyone has been fishing dries mostly, hence that is the tactic that has been taking the fish. A striped mini cat (sub surface) is also working well in the evenings when it has been calm and given the fact the there has been caenis are on the water. Here is a video from the other night when there was a big hatch of Caenis, the loch was bubbling all over with fish all night. ***OVER 30 FISH TO THE BOAT IN 5 HOURS*** With all the rainfall over the last few days, the loch is at the highest I have ever seen - probably up around 6 inches. Given that the water is cool and fresh with abundant feeding, the surface action has been constant. Out in the boat yesterday, fishing a black hopper, over 30 fish were landed to the boat, mainly brown and blues averaging 2.5lb. Rainbows, Brook Char and Tigers up to 6lb were featuring in the catches also. The Browns are also putting up a serious fight, with some of them coming to the net at 3lb.
