Erskine : Proud to Care Founded in 1916, Erskine has provided nursing and medical care for former members of our Armed forces through two world wars and the more recent conflicts and peace keeping initiatives of the twentieth and twenty first centuries. Restoring dignity and providing first class care to ex-Service men and women both young and old have been the cornerstones on which Erskine has built an unrivalled reputation. However, as an organisation, we can never stand still. Sadly war isn’t a thing of the past and we are already looking after young men and women who have served in recent conflicts.

General Information
Erskine offers a unique quality of care with the provision of physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, podiatry and enhanced medical care on-site. Our vision is to ensure that our residents enjoy the best quality of life possible and that we achieve best practice in everything that we do. Nursing care is provided by a highly skilled team and our training programme ensures that all our staff receive the training that they require in order to deliver the highest standard of care possible.

If you would like to make a text donation of 3 pounds to Erskine, please text 'Erskine' to 70707.

The Erskine President's Awards were introduced in 2013 to award and recognise the outstanding work of our staff and volunteers. The aim of the initiative is to recognise, regardless of length of service, those who go that extra mile to make a difference to the people they come in contact with, be it residents, families, friends, customers, fellow staff or volunteers. Many congratulations to the worthy winners of our President's Awards 2017 who are pictured receiving their certificates this week in Mar Hall Hotel.

Our Patient Records from 1916-1936 went online today after being digitised by University of Glasgow. Moira Gallie was thrilled to find out more about her grandfather, James Henderson, by searching the records. Today Moira visited The Erskine Home for a tour, meeting with Professor Tony Pollard from Glasgow University and our Chairman Robin Crawford. Speaking about the fascinating historical records our Chief Executive Steve Conway said: “The details of every soldier and sailor admitted to The Princess Louise Scottish Hospital for Limbless Sailors and Soldiers during the First World War were recorded in leather bound books which included the nature of their injury, where they were serving when injured and their unit, so we have a fascinating insight into the history of the patients admitted to the hospital. We can also see that many had return visits for treatment or the fitting of artificial limbs as their wounds healed. We are delighted that, thanks to the painstaking work by the University, relatives can now research our records about members of their families injured in the First World War from the comfort of their own home.” https://www.erskine.org.uk/erskine-university-glasgow-archive-project-goes-online/
